As the snow begins to fall, there is a chance that weather could affect school schedules.
Our top priority is always the safety of our students and staff. Based on Board policy 1800, Winter Weather Protocols, this summary helps you plan for disruptions to your child’s school schedule.
More detail is on our webpage:

In response to extreme snowstorms, the superintendent may decide to delay the start of school by two hours, or call for an online learning day. Whatever the decision, it will apply to every school in the district.
When is the decision made?
Our district safety teams monitor weather conditions closely to help get out information as quickly as possible.
Night Before: If a major storm is forecasted, a decision may be made by 10:00 pm the evening before.
Morning Of: For unexpected conditions, teams assess the roads early in the morning, and a final decision is typically made no later than 5:30 am.
Two-Hour Delay
When a delayed start is called, it is always a two-hour delay.
School Start Times: School will begin exactly two hours later than your child’s usual start time.
Bus Pick-up: Buses will also run on a two-hour delay. If your child's bus usually arrives at 7:15 am, it will arrive at 9:15 am.
Dismissal: Schools will end at their normal scheduled time and afternoon buses will also run on their normal schedule.
Preschool: On delayed-start days, all preschool classes are canceled.
Online Learning
In some cases, the district may call for an Online/Distance Learning Day. This allows students to continue their education safely from home when road conditions are too hazardous for travel. On these days, school buildings are closed and buses do not run.
